Become An NLP Researcher
A Weekend Training by Richard Bolstad
Prerequisite: Open entry but recommended at least 2 days of NLP Training. This course is not currently scheduled.
Richard Bolstad is a member of the committee of the NLP Research and Recognition Project, and has helped prepare their results for messaging to a wider audience in book form. In a world where “Do you own research” has become a cliche for misusing Google, is it time you actually discovered how to do research that gets respected? Become an NLP Researcher, and understand how research works – for NLP Practitioners and Trainers. Using an example on the weekend, we will learn the whole process of research, from designing a study to publishing the results.
- Create qualitative and quantitative evidence for the things you teach.
- Practice simple research on the weekend, using the group as subjects.

- Understand, in simple language, the jargon terminology of statistics.
- Support international NLP research projects and create your own.
- Add to the knowledge base of the NLP community.
- Increase the prestige of your NLP training by becoming a researcher.
- Write up your research studies so they are more likely to be approved for publication.
