Supervision for Coaching:
Become a Coaching Supervisor
A two day course to develop your leadership and support in the coaching field. Supervision refers to what happens when a coach contracts to meet with another coach to discuss their coaching experience. This course will equip you to do this one to one, in a peer supervision setting and in group or team supervision (working with either a group of diverse individual coaches or with a team who provide coaching or similar client services). Being a supervisor enables you to provide three core services for other coaches. You will learn how to:
- Support coaches solving challenges with complex client issues and complex interpersonal challenges.
- Promote coaches to act with high professional standards and establish their credibility as ethical agents.
- Facilitate coaches in their development and progression towards expertise in their field.
Supervision meets these three aims in ways that standardised teaching or training does not. For you as a participant on this course, you will have practical experiences which will not only confirm your ability to provide these services to coaches, but also will reveal in deeper ways:
- Your own ability to develop expertise, learning a new richer model of what expertise means, and what coaching means.
- Your understanding of working within groups and of guiding groups.
- your understanding of the sometimes overlapping but also distinct fields of coaching, mentoring, consulting, supervision and training.
